Built in the Greek revival style, the plantation house depicts life since the Civil War and displays Early American antiques and rare botanical and ornithological prints and books. The present house is a combination of the house burned during the Civil War and a pre-Revolutionary summer house, originally located 10 miles up the Ashley River, disassembled and rebuilt on the burned-out brick first story of its predecessor.
