Day 1 (D): Join us on our adventure to Lake Lure, North Carolina. Upon our afternoon arrival, we check in at Lake Lure Inn, for a 2-night stay. Built in 1927, this luxury hotel is renowned for its rich history and serves as one of North Carolina’s landmark hotels. It was built when the waters of Lake Lure first began to fill, and has since hosted many celebrities: F. Scott Fitzgerald, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Emily Post, Calvin Coolidge, and the stars of “Dirty Dancing” themselves. Come see where Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey filmed their famous scenes.

After arrival, enjoy a Lake Lure Sightseeing Cruise. Your skipper guides you past local attractions and landmarks, including filming locations in the film. Do you remember the famous water lift scene with Johnny and Baby? A dinner buffet is included this evening at the Lake Lure Inn. Either before or after dinner, take a tour of the Historic Inn's antiques and music box collection.

Day 2 (B, L, D): Enjoy the hotel's breakfast before boarding the bus and departing for Asheville and Biltmore Estate. We visit the Biltmore House, America's largest privately owned home. Step inside the mansion and cross over to a threshold of beauty, virtually unchanged for more than a century. Savor a self-guided visit to the Biltmore House and explore grand spaces filled with art masterpieces and stunning antiques. Admire private family quarters, an indoor pool, bowling alley, and gorgeous kitchens with servant stations.

Lunch today is at the Deerpark Restaurant, located on the estate grounds .At Deerpark Restaurant, savor mouth-watering southern cuisine served buffet-style. Dine in a peaceful, natural setting with plenty of rustic charm and sweeping views of estate pastures. A wall of windows overlooks an interior courtyard that’s perfect for relaxing after the meal.A working farm has been part of Biltmore Estate since 1895—that legacy continues today. Biltmore operates its farm and field-to-table program with estate-grown greens, berries, eggs, beef, and lamb, and partnerships with farmers in western North Carolina for locally-sourced trout, cheese, beef, and pork for our restaurants.

This afternoon, enjoy a tour of the Biltmore Winery. Delight in free wine tastings and a redesigned self-guided tour to learn how they craft their award-winning wines. You will also have time to stroll through Antler Hill Village. Step into the everyday lives of families who lived on the estate, raising livestock, tending crops and working at Biltmore Dairy in the 1890s. The Barn in Antler Hill Village – once the social and work center for these families – is alive again with blacksmiths, woodworkers, and other craft demonstrations: The Barn Door features a unique selection of American-made arts and crafts items; and a Smokehouse offers Carolina barbeque, quick sandwiches and other southern favorites. Tonight we eat dinner at Esmeralda Inn, where part of the Patrick Swayze dance scenes were the filmed.

Day 3 (B, L, D): Enjoy the hotel's breakfast before loading your treasures on the bus and departing for Chimney Rock Park. Take the elevator to the Top of the Rock for a gorgeous view of Hickory Nut Falls and the Moonshiners Cave. It's a morning filled with nature, fresh air in the mountains and beautiful scenery. After our time at Chimney Rock Park, we travel west to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. After checking into our hotel, we will experience some live entertainment at the Grand Majestic Theater Dinner and Show. Tonight you have free time at The Island at your leisure.
