It was built when the waters of Lake Lure first began to fill, and has since hosted many celebrities: F. Scott Fitzgerald, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Emily Post, Calvin Coolidge, and the stars of “Dirty Dancing” themselves. Come see where Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey filmed their famous scenes.
After arrival, enjoy a Lake Lure Sightseeing Cruise. Your skipper guides you past local attractions and landmarks, including filming locations in the film. Do you remember the famous water lift scene with Johnny and Baby? A dinner buffet is included this evening at the Lake Lure Inn. Either before or after dinner, take a tour of the Historic Inn's antiques and music box collection.

A wall of windows overlooks an interior courtyard that’s perfect for relaxing after the meal.A working farm has been part of Biltmore Estate since 1895—that legacy continues today. Biltmore operates its farm and field-to-table program with estate-grown greens, berries, eggs, beef, and lamb, and partnerships with farmers in western North Carolina for locally-sourced trout, cheese, beef, and pork for our restaurants.
