After an early morning departure, we make our way to Debonne Vineyards in Madison, Ohio. Upon arrival, you will have lunch on your own and enjoy two wine tastings and appetizers, as you watch the ice wine festivities. Debonne Vineyards is the largest estate winery in Ohio, boasting over 175 acres of vines. Located in the center of the Grand River Valley wine region, they benefit from a climate moderated by the thermal effects of eastern Lake Erie.
In the afternoon, we will have appetizers and two tastings at Grand River Cellars Winery. It may be an ice-wine festival, but the Grand River Cellars Winery & Restaurant has a warm, inviting atmosphere. Step inside to a beautiful fireplace, many hand-painted murals, and a large bar area for friends to gather.
Next on our journey through Ohio's Ice Wine Country is Laurello Vineyard. At Laurello's we will have two tastings and a food pairing. Laurello Vineyards is a small boutique winery nestled in the Grand River Valley in Geneva, Ohio. Laurello’s operates and maintains 10 acres of estate grown vineyards, producing wines that reflect the uniqueness of the Grand River Valley and Lake Erie region.
Our last stop of the day is at one of Ohio’s most unique wineries, Ferrante Winery and Ristorante. Nicholas Ferrante, third-generation wine-maker, boasts his signature series wine, produced from premium estate-grown grapes such as Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Grigio, Gewürztraminer. Our favorite? A very special collection of Ice Wines, made from Vidal Blanc and Cabernet Franc grapes. You will partake in Ferrante’s ice wine festivities and enjoy two wine tastings. Later, we sit down to a homemade Italian lasagna dinner—the perfect way to end the day.
